Life, America, Randomness

Leave Tonight or Die This Way

with 2 comments

Radio is playing

Your mind shoots back to summer mornings

Northern California and your driving

Lost in the fields, sun is on your dashboard.

You’re calm.

Staring at the clouds, August scents fills you from the out

You crack open a window

Hand hanging, touching the wind.

Not so clear where to go

Another intersection followed by three lights

Seeking a street in this college bicycle town

Kids running wild

Lawns wearing yellow.

Maybe turn here

Nothing to lose

With a full tank of gas.

Time on your side

Alone and misplaced

Finally you’re an adult

    • Imagination is often stronger and smarter than reality.
While I’m in this poetic mood.
